Application deadline: June 30, 2026

Program Description

The MAT program seeks to improve the students’ ministry, deepen their theological knowledge, and confirm their calling to ministry. Study is in Arabic.

  • This program is accredited by the European Council for Theological Education (ECTE).
  • The language of instruction is Arabic, but a basic level of English is required.
  • The duration of the program is three to four years. The program consists of 54 credit hours (equivalent to 90 ects). This means a study load of approximately 2430 actual hours.
  • Courses are offered in either 3-credit-hour or 1.5-credit-hour formats:
    – A 3-credit-hour course is equivalent to 135 actual hours per semester (approximately 10 actual hours per week), including lectures, quizzes, assignments, exams, and research;
    – A 1.5-credit-hour course is equivalent to 67.5 actual hours per semester, including lectures, quizzes, assignments, and exams.
  • The maximum number of courses that can be registered for per semester is 12 credit hours (e.g., 4 courses, each worth 3 credit hours).
  • The program is offered fully online (but students can take some courses on campus in Cairo if they want).
  • The program follows a flipped classroom model: there are weekly recorded video lectures, and each 3-credit-hour course includes at least six live online discussion sessions (or sessions on campus).
  • The first year is a probationary year. The seminary reserves the right to dismiss a student in any academic year for disciplinary reasons.
  • Students are required to pay tuition fees at the beginning of each semester.
  • The actual tuition fee is EGP 2400/credit for the 2026–2027 academic year. Applicants can, however, fill out a scholarship application for a grant that amounts to 85%. The scholarship application is included with the program application and is awarded based on the applicant’s needs and circumstances.
  • The deadline for applications for the 2026–2027 academic year is June 30, 2026.
  • Accepted students will be required to complete a short online course during the summer to familiarize themselves with the academic system of the seminary and to learn how to use the various websites they will need throughout their studies. The dates for this course will be announced later.
  • Classes begin on September 28, 2026.
