Mofreh was born and raised in Upper Egypt. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature and Linguistics before studying theology in Egypt (MDiv) and Belgium (MA; Doctoral Examination). He is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Otago, New Zealand. Mofreh’s research interests focus on social-scientific criticism and its use in understanding the New Testament, particularly in exploring ethnic identity and the dynamics of exclusion and inclusion within early Christian communities. He is an ordained minister in the Synod of the Nile.
