Brief Life Story and Faith Journey:

I was born in Suhag, in Southern Egypt in 1963. I grew up attending a village church several times a week. At the age of 15, I moved from the rural village to the urban area of Port Said next to the Suez Canal, where I became more actively involved in ministry, and where a small group of peers affirmed my gifts and encouraged me to consider a future of full time ministry. But it was not until I was 18 years old when I first sensed God’s call to this service. Upon completion of my secondary education, I enrolled in the four-year Bachelor of Theology program at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Cairo. There I learned many skills through my studies, but it was the lives and ministry of some of my teachers that shaped me even more. Following seminary, I entered the pastorate in 1986 in the First Presbyterian Church in Al-Tayeeba, a village in Upper Egypt, where I was ordained in 1987, and served there until I joined the teaching staff at ETSC in 1992. God blessed my ministry in Al-Tayeeba Church with tremendous growth very quickly as I trained church leaders, and as I gained significant practical experiences, which has in turn greatly informed my teaching of courses on pastoral care and counseling at the seminary.

I am married to Amgaad, and have a son and a daughter, Rofy and Lora.
